My path into Body-centred counselling
My journey into body-centred counselling began with a profound turning point. In 2011, I survived a near-fatal motorbike accident in Bali — an experience that forced me to relearn my body from the inside out. Only a year earlier, I had gone through a shamanic initiation, and it was this connection to my inner healer that helped guide my recovery and opened a deeper path of service.
With my background in classical ballet and contemporary dance, I naturally turned toward movement as medicine. My healing process inspired me to study body-centred psychotherapy with Tim Brown in 2016, where I later became his assistant, gaining hands-on experience in supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual trauma. This blend of embodied wisdom, somatic training, and intuitive insight forms the foundation of my therapeutic work today.

What makes Body-centred counselling different
Body-centred or somatic counselling recognises that our bodies hold the stories our minds cannot always articulate. Unlike traditional talking therapy, which focuses primarily on thoughts, emotions, and cognitive patterns, somatic work invites you to include your felt experience — your breath, posture, sensations, and the subtle shifts within your nervous system.
Sessions may include gentle body awareness, guided movement, breathwork, and intuitive sensing. I may ask questions like, “What do you notice in your body as you say this?” or invite you to follow a sensation that emerges. This approach helps uncover patterns stored beneath conscious awareness, making room for deeper release and integration.
Somatic therapy does not bypass the mind — it complements it. By engaging both body and awareness, we access a fuller picture of your experience, allowing change to arise from the inside out.

How I hold the space & what you may experience
Each session unfolds uniquely, shaped moment by moment by your body’s needs. We begin with a conversation to understand your emotional, psychological, and physical landscape, and from there, I follow the intuitive resonance I feel with you — gently guiding rather than directing.
The space I hold is safe, attuned, and grounded; my role is to be beside you, not to lead you away from your own wisdom. Through somatic exploration, forgotten memories, emotions, or old patterns may naturally surface, offering opportunities for release and repair. This process can bring both immediate relief and longer-term transformation as the body unwinds stored tension and the nervous system reorganises.
My intention is to support you in reconnecting with your inner rhythm, clarity, and sense of wholeness — welcoming you into a deeper relationship with your body as a source of truth and healing.
"Traditional counselling relies only on talking while my somatic approach puts the body and its process into the center."
